Enhance Your Sleep
Out of all the things that are vital to our body, rest is one of the necessities that many of us take for granted. If you wake up to find the snooze button every morning, that's part of the problem. It means that you aren't well rested. You may find it getting increasingly more difficult to fall asleep every night. Therefore, it is more difficult to wake up every morning. Look no further than your daily activities to improve your sleep. Moreover, food, exercise and stress can affect your ability to sleep through the night, in different ways.
Let's Start With Waking up
The first problem is the alarm clock and the snooze button. The snooze cycle needs to be eliminated. Try to place your alarm clock far away from you so that you have to physically get up and out of bed to stop it. Walk to the bathroom immediately and don't get back in your bed for any reason. Eventually, you want to train your body to wake up just before your alarm clock so that it is only used as a precautionary measure. Give yourself enough time to prepare yourself breakfast. Now, you are ready to face the day. If your job or personal life generates high amounts of stress, you may need to seek a positive outlet. A way to expend some energy, a hobby or something that interests you. Take time every day to do something you enjoy.
Your Sleep Can improve As Your Diet improves
If you snack after dinner, eat sugary foods and drink soda or coffee, then your sleep may suffer. Limit your coffee to the mornings and if you can't eliminate soda and sugar, set up 1pm as a cutoff time. Eat healthy meals and snacks throughout the day so that dinner isn't your largest meal and don't eat snacks after dinner. About an hour prior to your bed time, turn off your television and relax your mind and body. Take deep breaths from your diaphragm in a standing position. Place your hands on each side of your naval and watch them expand. Shift your hands to your sides, then to your back. In each position, take ten deep breaths. Lie on the floor with your legs raised and knees bent and repeat the breathing exercise with your hands in the same three positions. Let your mind settle as you breath and relax your body. You can add static stretching to your breathing routine to relax your muscles. Your body and mind will wind down. Unplug all electronics in your bedroom. Enter your cave and initiate your sleep cycle.
